PDF Document Concepts

To better use Foxit PED and understand how it works, it's necessary to look at this section to see how Foxit conceptualizes the PDF page and its objects within it.

  • A PDF document consists of a number of pages, and each page contains a number of visible objects. - These objects are the work target in PDF Editor.
  • An object can be a text object which contains a number of text characters, a graph object which contains a number of lines or curves, or an image object which contains colored pixels. - User can change these objects directly in the Document pane together with the file bar.
  • Each type of PDF objects has specific attributes that determine what the object looks like. - User can change the attributes in the Attributes Modify pane to realize changing the objects.
  • Text objects use fonts to specify how the characters look like, and font sizes to specify how large those characters are. Graph objects have attributes like line width, fill type and more. All objects have common attributes like position, size, and orientation.
